The SFCC has had some very nice events with good attendance in April 2024. I want to thank all those who attended the
benefit Pancake Feed fundraiser for Mike & Colleen Skiles great-grandson, Ky, in Larchwood, which was a great success. There was a good turnout for the first Drive & Dine at the Prime Time in Madison, and as usual, the prime rib was outstanding! The general membership meeting in April at Five Oaks was well attended and I think everyone likes the new venue. A big thank you to everyone who has attended these events.
A very hearty thank-you to Jerry Barr for sponsoring a great Drive & Dine on Saturday, April 27th. We met at Jerry’s Chevrolet in Beresford and went to Waddy’s in Hudson for Bloody Marys and a light lunch. Then we proceeded to Milford, Iowa and toured the Okoboji Classic Cars Museum. Wow ~ what an unbelievable collection of vintage automobiles and art work! After that we capped off the day with a great dinner at the Waterfront Grill on Lake Okoboji, paid for by Jerry ~ what a nice thing for him to do! I want to say that although Jerry’s sells lots of Corvettes and does great service work, Jerry’s sells many different brands of new and used vehicles. Please check out Jerry’s the next time you are in the market for a new or used vehicle. Jerry’s will take good care of you and they truly appreciate all the business we give them. Again, thank you Jerry, for a wonderful dinner and a great day! We appreciate everything you do for the SFCC!

MAY
4th – Adopt a Highway Cleanup – Dusty Miller is in charge. Meet at Dario’s across from the Hy-Vee gas station on S. Minnesota St. @ 9:15 a.m. Leave for the ditch clean-up at 9:30. Pizza following the clean-up!
5th – Spring Rally starting at Jerry’s Chevrolet in Beresford at 12:00 Noon. Launch at 12:45p.m.
15th – Board Meeting at Look’s Market at 6:30 p.m.
18th – Spring Car Show at the Alliance parking lot. Registration at 12:00 – 1:30 ~ Car Show 1:30 – 5:00 p.m.
22nd ~ General Membership Meeting at the Five Oaks Event Center 6:30 p.m. Social time with hors d’oeuvres . Meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.
26th – “Thunder on the Missouri” in honor of Veterans. Memorial ride from the Legion Post in Sargent Bluff, Iowa to Freedom Park in South Sioux City, NE. For more information call Mike Dellwo, SFCC club member at 712-389-4947.
JUNE
12th – Drive & Dine to the Buffalo Ridge Brewery in Hartford. Meet in the east parking lot of the Ramkota at 5:30 p.m. Depart at 5:45 p.m. Corvette Car show and food trucks.
19th – Board Meeting at Look’s Market @ 6:30 p.m.
22nd – Drive & Dine to the National Music Museum in Vermillion. Meet at Bertz Sports Bar and Grill in Beresford (just across the street from Jerry’s) for a breakfast brunch at 9:30 a.m. and then caravan to the Music Museum for a two-hour guided tour starting at Noon. $15 admission fee. An article in the CHIPS is forthcoming and will explain the details.
26th – General Membership Meeting at Five Oaks at 6:30 p.m. Social time with hors d’oeuvres, meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.
Again, thank you to everyone that has been coming to the meetings and attending the SFCC events and to all the volunteers who have help make them successful. Remember, we join for the cars but stay for the people . . .
