Prez Sez - New Jackets Available!

March 31, 2025 Hello everyone! Seems like a good time was had by all at the SFCC’s first general membership meeting at the Social on Wednesday, March 26th.

We’ve got a ton of activities going on the next few months ~ and a hearty thank you to

Mike Skiles for doing a superb job lining up the SFCC Drive & Dines! There is

something for everyone!

Here is a special message from the Merchandise Committee . . .

We have had several members express an interest in purchasing new jackets this year

with the full back SFCC logo on the back.  We have decided to include the jacket orders

with our SFCC online store that we will be opening towards the end of April. We will only

open the store ONE time this year. The orders will be placed with the online store orders

in April. The cost of the embroidery for the large full back logo will be approximately

$50 (as long as 12 people order) along with an additional embroidery charge for the left

chest logo and your name. Jacket prices vary but you will be able to see what those will

be before you order. We are letting club members pick out jackets or vests that appeal

to them instead of making everyone order the same jacket. If you would like to order a

SFCC jacket, please contact Jen Johnke at 605-647-7355 or johnkecandles@gmail.com

by April 3rd and she will give you the website. 

Also, just a reminder to those who have already said they wanted to order a

jacket and were given the website. We will need your jacket items numbers back

by April 3rd.

I received information that Papik Motors in Luverne will be holding their 2025 Spring

Rally on Saturday, May 17th, the same day as the SFCC Drive & Dine to the Palmer

Candy Store in Sioux City, Iowa. There will be music, beer and a food truck. The time of

this event is 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. No pre-registration is needed.

Drive & Dines:

April 29th Take 16 Brewery, 59 E. Main, Luverne, MN. Corvette only parking, food truck and great brews

to sample. Very nice patio, weather permitting. Meet on Main Street of Valley Springs for a little

conversation and a 5:30 p.m. departure.

Saturday, May 17th Day trip to the Palmer Candy Store, 405 Wesley Pkwy., Sioux City, Iowa, lunch at the

Ickey Nickle, 4700 41st St., Sioux City, Iowa, then take the scenic route home along the Sioux River, with a

possible stop at Waddy’s in Hudson. Depart Casey’s, I-29 and Tea Exit at 10:00 a.m.

Wednesday, June 11th Buffalo Ridge Brewery, 102 N. Main, Hartford, SD. Taste a couple of brews, street

blocked for car show, live music, food truck or if you prefer grab a few close friends and have a steak at

the Hartford Steak House. Depart from the east parking lot of the Ramkota at 5:45 p.m.

Tuesday, July 8th Chud’s Pub & Grub, 403 Holder St., Larchwood, Iowa. Depart the Farmers Market

area of Falls Park in Sioux Falls at 5:30 p.m., take a few back roads along the Sioux River to Larchwood.

Tuesday, August 26th Waddy’s, 313 Wheelock St., Hudson, SD. Depart the Theatre parking lot at

Dawley Farms at 5:30 p.m. for a scenic route to Hudson.

Tuesday, September 9th Dinner at Bradley’s Pub & Grille in Mitchell, located at 514 N. Main Street next

to the World’s Only Corn Palace! We will meet there at 6:00 p.m. and a limited menu will be offered. Take

Exit 332 on I-90, then go right and follow the signs to the Corn Palace. We will gather at the Ramkota east

parking lot and depart Sioux Falls at 5:30 p.m.

September ??? Hillside Resort Car Show at the Hillside Resort on Lake Madison. They are still in the

planning stage, but it will be on a Saturday or Sunday shortly after Labor Day.

October ??? Cocktail & Conversation at Jerry’s in Beresford. Jerry’s will conduct a brief informational

meeting on Winterizing your Corvette.

Spring Rally:

Sunday, May 4th Meet at Jerry’s in Beresford 12:00 – 12:30 with a Drivers meeting at 12:40. Cars

starting out at 1:00 p.m.

BHCC:

Wednesday, July 16th Jerry’s Welcome Event in Beresford, SD

July 17th through 20th Black Hills Corvette Classic in Spearfish, SD

Annual Picnic:

Wednesday, August 13th at 6:00 p.m. at Falls Park – Under the large picnic shelter
