Prez Sez - Thanks for the GREAT year!
December 9, 2024
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! We had a memorable banquet on Saturday, November 9th. 120 people went through the line for prime rib or grilled pork chop. The American Legion was on hand to post the colors and also to inform everyone how the donations from the SFCC are used. We had a basket for donations and collected a whopping $1,018 that was sent to American Legion Post 15. They are so grateful for our donations! And to make things even better, Jerry’s Chevrolet is matching the donations received at the banquet for a total impact of $2,036! Many thanks to Jerry Barr!!! There was lots of fun that evening and a whole bunch of awards were given out.
If you have not yet paid your 2025 dues, now would be an excellent time to do so. You can pay with your credit or debit card online through the SFCC website at SiouxFallsCorvetteClub.com. Dues for a couple are $130 and a single membership is $105. There is a $5 service charge to pay online. Or you can mail a check to Treasurer Elaine Robinson at PO Box 994, Mitchell SD 57301 and save yourself 5 bucks.

Lastly, on a personal note, I want to let you know that the day after Thanksgiving I had a bad fall at home as well as a heart attack. Long story short, I ended up being flown to the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. They did tons of tests, x-rays and lab work. An angiogram revealed that I have only minimal blockage in my coronary arteries, so that was good news. They are still working on what caused the heart attack. We don’t know what came first, the fall or the heart attack. Kind of like the chicken and the egg.
After 4 days at the Heart Hospital, I was transferred to Avera McKennan Hospital to take care of some pulmonary issues. I spent 4 days at McKennan and got to come home on Friday, December 6th. I am working hard to heal and recover and absolutely plan to be at the Board meeting on December 18th!
Until then, save the wave!
