Prez Sez - Winter Meet up and Super Bowl Party

January 23, 2025 Wow, it’s been COLD lately! Thanks to everyone who attended the Pancake Breakfast at the American Legion on January 5th. Everyone had a great time and we were able to support the American Legion Post 15 and its mission.

Mark your calendar now to attend a Corvette Owners’ Winter Meet-Up at Jerry’s Chevrolet & Corvette Center on Saturday, February 1st from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. You should have received an RSVP invitation from Jerry’s in your email inbox the last few days. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts, swap stories, talk with the Jerry’s staff and learn more about keeping your Corvette in peak condition during the colder winter months. I hope to see you there!

The next fun event will be on Sunday, February 9th at the Sports Center in Larchwood, Iowa, located at 1001 Broadway Street. Just like last year, we will be having an old-fashioned Super Bowl party with a chili cook-off and desserts. SFCC will provide bowls, plates, silverware, napkins and soup crackers. Just bring a pot of your best chili and/or dessert and there will be a prize for the best chili. The Sports Center has a bar that will be open. We’re looking forward to a fun time and hope you can make it! The party will start at 4:00 p.m. with the Super Bowl kick-off at 5:30 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Our Merchandise leaders, Jen Johnke and Cheri Beyer, are looking for new ideas for the type of merchandise and logos that you would possibly want to see this year in the Black Hills Corvette Classic merchandise trailer. They would love to get some input from all the club members – guys and gals alike. After reviewing what has been submitted to them, then they will make their final decisions based on what has been submitted. They are limited with the number of logos that they can do to get the best pricing, but please still submit your ideas. They are looking forward to hearing from all of you. For example, if you would like a men’s button down shirt or a women’s polo shirt, these would be things to tell them. Please email your suggestions to: johnkecandles@gmail.com. Thanks in advance for your suggestions, it will help them in offering some new options this year. 

Just a reminder that 2025 dues are payable on or before March 1st ~ otherwise, members who have not paid their dues will go on the inactive list in the database and will stop receiving email blasts. So far 62% of the membership has paid their 2025 dues. 2025 dues for a couple are $130 and $105 for a single membership. Dues can be paid online at SiouxFallsCorvetteClub.com. Or you can save yourself the $5 service charge and mail your check to: Sioux Falls Corvette Club, PO Box 994, Mitchell SD 57301.
